Merry Christmas!

We did well I think. This year the goal was to downsize the consumption and the stress and focus on sharing time with friends and family. Shopping for gifts for the children was made easier this year by borrowing "something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read" from Miranda at nurtured by love. I found a neat wooden truck for Robert that was made locally and a wooden toboggan. Jamie has been wanting "Age of Empires" video game for a long time and, hopefully arriving soon after Christmas because I didn't order it in time, will be his flashmaster for practising math. Lots of books - books are good! I of course recieved a digital camera and I am hoping to figure out how to add pictures soon. We did cookie decorating with a few fellow homeschoolers, gingerbread houses with the neighbor and Christmas crafts with some close friends. The rest was just spending time together with family and enjoying ourselves. We had a German Christmas and opened the presents on the afternoon of the 24th as Brian has to work Christmas day. The boys and I were invited to Christmas dinner, but unfortunately Robert wasn't feeling well and we had to cancel. I think there may have been trace amounts of dairy in the chocolate bar he had in his stocking this morning - Ooops! Tomorrow, if everyone is healthy, we will be heading out to Morrell Nature Sanctuary for an open house.

Welcome to my blog

I am very new to this and am somewhat technologically challenged, so please bear with me as I try to figure this out. The purpose of this blog is to share a little bit of our lives with family and friends. I hope to be able to include pictures and at some point videos and of course links to some of the fun and maybe even the not so fun things we do.
